The challenge of this project was to convert a 39,000 square foot
commercial laundry facility for use as a book distributor and retailer
on a limited budget. 7,000 square feet were developed into office
space, 17,000 square feet into warehousing, shipping and receiving
(with two new docks), and 15,000 square feet were developed into
retail space. The original industrial steel sash windows were used
as interior walls, honoring the history of the building while providing
daylight into interior spaces.
