ALTAMONT THEATRE

An 1880's building in downtown Asheville is the new home to the Altamont Theatre.  The main floor houses a black-box theater seating about 120 people. The lower level features a lobby with gallery space for artwork, a small bar and restrooms, and theater support spaces including dressing rooms and a green room.  The top two floors each house three apartments intended as vacation rentals. A two-story addition at the back of the building brings the total space to 11,000 square feet.  The building was renovated under strict guidelines qualifying for historic-preservation tax credits as well as the stringent guidelines for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification for sustainability.
