SKYLAND RECREATION CENTER POOL BUILDING - Skyland, NC

As the only enclosed and heated County swimming pool, the Skyland Recreation Center is heavily used by both recreational as well as team swimmers. The existing metal building's structural integrity had been compromised due to the corrosive environment and an inadequate mechanical system. We designed a new masonry structure with state-of-the-art dehumidification and ventilation systems. The heat rejected by the dehumidification system is recaptured and used to heat the pool. Insulated skylights provide daylighting to the pool area with significant savings in utilities and operational costs.
