WEST BUNCOMBE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT - Asheville, NC

The new 23,000-square foot facility for the West Buncombe Fire Department, built on the site of the outdated 1959 structure, takes advantage of the steep grades. The two-story administration building accommodates the more public spaces of offices and training on the lower level. The more private living quarters -- dormitory, kitchen, day room and fitness room for firefighters and 14 EMS personnel are located on the upper level, directly accessible to the 6 drive-through apparatus bays.
