We first performed a code and condition assessment of the 1914 Elk's Home and adjacent McPherson Buildings in downtown Asheville, when WCQS-FM Radio, an NPR affiliate, decided to purchase their leased space. Since then, we have master planned the 27,000 square foot space, resulting in expanded radio station facilities on the main level including recording studios, administrative offices, conference and volunteer work areas. Offices and residential condos are being developed on the upper floors, with parking in the basement. (Project in progress.)
