Residence New Construction - Barnardsville, NC

This is a modest 1,200 sf house built into a hillside in Barnardsville, NC. Working with an arborist, we sited the house to best take advantage of the site's natural features with minimal disturbance to the existing landscape. A local logger felled the selected trees and his mule hauled them down the hill to a portable mill set up on site. The milled lumber was kiln-dried and used to build a horse barn as well as for all the interior trim in the house. The house features open living space and master on the main level, with a screen porch and deck facing the dramatic view. The day-lit lower level has guest rooms and storage.
