GROVE CORNER MARKET– Asheville, NC

The 5,000 square-foot Grove Corner Market occupies a prominent corner in the Grove Arcade. Opened in 1929, the Grove Arcade housed locally-operated shops and services before the federal government converted it into offices. As part of the recent redeveloped into a public market, offices and apartments, Glazer Architecture designed the Grove Corner Market, the only grocery store serving the downtown area. One of the challenges was making all 5 floor levels accessible as well as incorporating utilities into the historic structure.
