ECHO MOUNTAIN RECORDING STUDIO B

This 9,600 square foot building in downtown Asheville was built in 1926 for the Salvation Army, however, it was used as a school of dance for the past 35 years. The building was in a state of disrepair, with years of deferred maintenance. All systems were updated and the building was brought into Code compliance. Studios, isolation rooms, control rooms were designed under the guidance of acclaimed acoustic designer George Augsperger of Perception, Inc. The studio is considered world-class within the industry due to the sound, the space and the gear. The exterior facades were also restored. The project received a Griffin Award for excellence in preservation.
